WASHINGTON, DC – The National Academy of Public Administration today hosted a forum on artificial intelligence (AI) and released a new Academy publication, Artificial Intelligence and its Impact on Public Administration.
“Artificial intelligence is one of the biggest innovations -- and challenges -- that we as a society will face in the years to come,” said Terry Gerton, President and CEO of the Academy. “While AI and robotics are very exciting, they have the potential to impact the government and public administration in ways that we are still trying to understand. Today’s discussion of these cutting-edge technologies and their intersection with government was tremendously insightful, and the book gives public administrators practical ways to position their agencies for the changes AI trends is already bringing.”
The forum featured a keynote address by Dr. Lynne Parker, Assistant Director for Artificial Intelligence in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, that highlighted the current applications and trends for AI in the federal government.Download PDF
